SGS News and Updates!!

Happy Spring! We are writing to share exciting news and updates!

Stable Grounds Sanctuary in the Community

🌟 This weekend, our Board Members will be hosting a table at the Connecticut Northeast Organic Famer’s Association (CT-NOFA) conference at Eastern Connecticut State University. We are excited to connect with folks from local farming communities with shared values!

🌟 In April, we will be hosting another table at the New Haven Pride Center’s Pride in Balance Wellness Fair. We are thrilled to share our dreams with more folks in New Haven and continue to build community!

SGS and the Great Give

Please Mark your calendars! This year SGS will be participating in The Great Give! This is an amazing opportunity for us to connect with the wider community, raise much needed funds, and build further support for our goals of creating a Farm Sanctuary that is accessible to New Haveners.

Please put the date in your calendar! May 1 - 2, 2024

We can use your help to continue to build our network and connect with people who believe in this mission. Please share this post and our upcoming social media posts about it to help spread the word!

A word from Mandy

Mandy is thrilled to be getting increased grass time now that Spring Grass is coming in! Did you know that horses can’t eat all the grass, all the time? Spring grass, especially in the mornings, is high in sugar. So, as it starts coming up this season, Mandy will be slowly introduced to it with increasing amounts of graze-time over the weeks. Finally, as the mature grass comes in, she will be on her full-day summer grazing schedule. And we know she can’t wait! 😎

We hope to see you out and about in the community!
