We’ve created a tradition of celebrating July in honor of our SGS board member's birthday month! (we are all July babies ♋♌)
Last year, we hosted a fundraiser at Possible Future’s Bookstore in New Haven on Rebecca’s birthday - which is TODAY! - Happy Birthday Rebecca! 🥳
We had a wonderful turnout of community members to learn about SGS’s vision, share the ways they would like to see that vision come to life, and contribute donations to begin our work.
A year later, and so much has changed! We got our first Sanctuary resident (Mandy girl ❤️) and have grown our social media presence and email listserv 👋 to increase our community reach.
This year, we are hosting our fundraiser virtually!
While we continue searching for land to begin our in-person services, we plan to create some virtual offerings. We are seeking to raise $5,000 so we can:
🎉 $420.00 to purchase Pivo Equestrian Training Pack
This is a super cool tech piece that we can place in Mandy’s paddock to record our movement and audio so we can share our learning in an easy-to-follow video format
🎉 $1000 for a Board Member Intensive Training Day with Farah DeJohnette
Did you know that horses can play soccer? This is Farah’s expertise - utilizing relationship-building strategies and play to grow the human & horse relationship while building the horse’s physical fitness. This intensive will ensure all board members are on the same page. We hope to extend our learning to the community!
🎉 $1500 for 12 months of ongoing board mentorship with Farah
This is to help ensure the training we learned during the intensive continues! Rebecca has been receiving ongoing monthly mentoring, which has been instrumental in Mandy’s care and prepares us for our work with future horses. We want to extend this to all board members.
🎉 $2,580.00 for Mandy's care as she continues to help us spread the word about our work.
