Giving Tuesday
Firstly, we want to extend our deepest gratitude to those who made contributions following our first newsletter. We are so thrilled to be in relationship with you and to continue to work together towards Stable Grounds Sanctuary’s growth.
We hope that everyone’s holiday was filled with time spent with loved ones and with gratitude for the moments we have together. We know for many this is a day filled with joy, and at the same time, this day holds immense grief as it is recognized as the National Day of Mourning for Indigenous peoples. While we hold both of these realities and honor the complexities of the impacts of historical trauma, we also become curious about concepts of integration, integrity, and accountability.
We know trauma healing for people and the natural world that we are a part of is not a straightforward path. It’s complicated, messy, and requires vulnerability, humility, and most of all: community. This is our work at Stable Grounds Sanctuary––to bring forth these conversations, and humbly learn with you all.
Now that our horse Mandy has joined the Sanctuary (scroll down to see her shayna punim— Yiddish for “pretty face”), we are moving forward with our next concrete steps. Our goal for 2024 is to build a Virtual Educational Platform to showcase our learning process as we continue to build the foundation of our sanctuary. We wish to engage you all with content that is relevant, informative, and enjoyable covering topics such as:
Consent-based human-horse relationships
Recreating accountable relationships with land
How trauma shows up in human-animal-environment relationships
We are seeking to fundraise $12,000 for Mandy and the educational platform to publish content based on our learning with her.
Together we can ensure Mandy receives the quality of care she needs to thrive, and to begin creating a community impact through accessible educational tools.
You can donate directly to our Paypal here or read more about Mandy and our fundraising campaign here. As a new 501c3 organization, your donations to Stable Grounds Therapeutic Farm Sanctuary, Inc are tax deductible. We appreciate your consideration this Giving Tuesday as well as your passing our information along to others who you feel will be interested in this work.
All Our Love,
Rebecca and the SGS Board
